Message from President

5 Years Later Maritime Bus has No Regrets

Travelling 10,000 km a day moving passengers and parcels throughout the Maritimes has been challenging but Maritime Bus President, Mike Cassidy has no regrets.

“Being passionate and naïve allows you the feeling of confidence to never accept something can’t be done”, Cassidy reflects, as he remembers the former bus company announcing it would be leaving the Region November 30, 2012 after losing $12 million over an 8-year period. With no real business plan Cassidy and staff took over the responsibility the next day on December 1, 2012 under a new name, Maritime Bus, with only one thought in mind… “Our Region needs a Passenger and Parcel Bus Service and we are the ones to deliver it”.

“A loyal customer following and a dedicated and supportive employee team has kept us in business”, says Mike Cassidy.

Any Company involved in the transportation business will tell you the industry is very fragile with low margins accompanied with capital intensive debt loads. Cassidy understands the importance of management and having a fully diversified company but gives all the credit to a loyal customer following and a dedicated and supportive employee team for keeping Maritime Bus in business.

For 2018 his thoughts are very clear… “Our Company’s commitment is to provide service to the region and honor the 80-year history of bus transportation…remaining passionate and dedicated in meeting the needs of our customers.”

One thing is for sure when you listen to Mike Cassidy you must believe him when he says, “in another 5 years on our 10th anniversary we will still be saying that we have no regrets in doing what we do for our Maritime Communities.”

Mike Cassidy, President
